About the Role
Perform Recruitment is currently looking for Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to work in purchasing team of a large manufacturing company.
This role is perfect for someone looking to grow with a developing business and will work closely with the senior management and the existing Purchasing Team.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring systems are updated with accurate PO details, due dates and pricing.
Maintenance of product and supplier database.
Managing incoming calls and emails ensuring they are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner.
Coordinating between departments and resolving day-to-day administrative and operational problems.
Ensure supplier forecasting is maintained and managed on a consistent basis, providing visibility of long-term requirements to the supply chain.
Assisting managers and team members with ad hoc administration duties and projects.
Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices and research additional potential vendors.
Undertake store visits and attend meetings on a regular basis internally & externally.
Maintain and manage the execution of POs.
Managing and Placing Purchase Orders, on Approval.
Manage and liaise with suppliers, ensuring delivery of materials are on time to meet ongoing factory demand requirements.
Identify opportunities for cost savings for both materials and logistics costs.
Manage all supplier returns and associated activity for credit/resupply
Ensure procurement responses meet operational requirements
Ensure business targets of the procurement team are being met
The ideal candidate will have:
A bachelors degree in a Business or supply chain-related discipline is important
1+ years experience in similar role
Experience of procurement in a FMCG sector
Ability to commute/ relocate
Ability to travel abroad
Drive licence B
